چکیده
Tarsitachys bilobus (Coleoptera, Carabidae) is a fossil species described by Erwin from Baltic amber. Its description was based on only one known specimen, and thus, part of its anatomical structures were unknown as they were poorly preserved in the Holotype. In this paper we complete the description with a second specimen. A new placement among Tachyina and a new status for the genus are proposed.

Fossil carabids from Baltic amber – I – A new species of the genus Calathus Bonelli, 1810 (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Pterostichinae)
In this paper a new species of fossil ground-beetle, Calathus elpis n. sp. (Coleoptera, Carabidae) preserved in a piece of Baltic amber (Eocene) is described. A comparison with extant fauna is made, and paleobiology of the species is studied.
متن کاملA new fossil species of the genus Coptodera Dejean, 1825 (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Lebiinae) from Baltic amber.
In this paper a new species of fossil ground-beetle, Coptodera elektra n. sp. (Coleoptera: Carabidae) preserved in a piece of Baltic amber (Eocene) is described and the paleobiology of the species is studied. This new species represents the first known fossil record for the genus, as well as the first record of its presence in Europe.
متن کاملOn the Eocene age of Limodromus Motschulsky, 1850, with description of <br />L. hoffeinsorum sp. n. from Baltic Amber (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Platynini).
The first platynine ground beetle, Limodromus hoffeinsorum sp. n., is described from Baltic amber at species level. The fossil species is considered the sister taxon of the modern species group of L. assimilis (Paykull, 1790). However, it was adapted to warmer climate conditions. The habitat of the new species is assumed similar to that of the modern L. klausnitzeri Schmidt, 2005, which represe...
متن کاملX-ray microscopy reveals endophallic structures in a new species of the ground beetle genus Trechus Clairville, 1806 from Baltic amber (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Trechini)
The third fossil species of the genus Trechus Clairville, 1806 is described from Baltic amber: Trechus exhibitorius sp. n. Details of external and internal morphology were analysed using X-ray micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) and important diagnostic features of the internal male genital sac (endophallus) are described in detail for the first time in a fossil ground beetle. Based on these d...
متن کاملLilioceris groehni sp. n.: the first authentic species of Criocerinae (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) from Baltic amber
Based on a single well-preserved specimen from Eocene Baltic amber, Lilioceris groehnisp. n. is described and illustrated using phase-contrast X-ray microtomography. It is the first described species of Criocerinae (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) from Baltic amber. A check-list of fossil Criocerinae is provided. Placement of Crioceris pristiana (Germar, 1813) is discussed, this species is removed f...
